10 Clarence Hill, Dartmouth

Sleeps 6

A truly great find! Central to the centre of Dartmouth in a very peaceful street, this cottage has been beautifully renovated to create a fabulous open plan living area on the ground floor with three sumptuous bedrooms on the upper floors. There is even a walled garden at the back to enjoy alfresco dining. The whole house has been furnished and equipped with maximum comfort in mind.

The front door opens from Clarence Hill into the open plan living room.  to the front o the cottage is the lounge furnished with sofa and armchairs, large TV, and side tables. The kitchen is very well equipped for a self catering holiday and has cream units with granite tops, housing the dishwasher, fridge and freezer, electric oven and hob, Nespresso machine (please bring pods). The dining area has a high glass ceiling flooding the room with light, wooden dining table and upholstered chairs for 6. Off the dining room is a small courtyard with a cupboard housing the washer/dryer and extra fridge and freezer space.

Stairs lead up to the first floor with the first of the bedrooms, this one has an upholstered kingsize bed, plenty of storage and large TV. Also on this floor is the large family bathroom with corner bath, separate shower, basin and toilet. On the second floor there are two bedrooms both with upholstered double beds and plenty of storage.  One of them has  an en suite shower, toilet and basin and television.

On the half landing between the first and second floors is the door leading the walled terrace with a rattan dining table and chairs and Outback gas barbecue.

“We’ve had a wonderful week exploring Dartmouth and staying at your beautiful home. It was such a lovely place to return to each day and it went above and beyond all our initial expectations meeting every desired comfort and need. Celebrating our grannies 90th birthday could not have gone as well without 10 Clarence Hill and she was delighted with everything generously provided and offered. We hope to one day return. Many thanks.  It felt so homely and we had everything we needed and more. Everything had been thought of. I would highly recommend staying here and it was amazing value for money!” Dominic, Mitte, Millie and Granny – 27 September 2019

“This property superseded our expectations and we would highly recommend. We booked our week in south Devon very late in the season and did not expect to find such fabulous accommodation in the most convenient of locations. Nestled at the foot of Clarence Hill (so no steep climb for my fit but octogenarian parents) it is a 1 to 2 minute stroll to Foss Street and its fashionable boutiques and galleries and then a left turn onto Duke Street and its timber framed buildings which lead you out to the harbour and spectacular river views. The allocated parking at Mayors Avenue again is only a 2 minute walk and on the way back you can call for provisions at the opportunely placed M & S simply food and or a cheeky beverage at the welcoming George and Dragon Public House. We took our 2 dogs and found a community orchard just a few minutes walk away where the dogs could exercise off the lead. The house is very stylish without compromising on substance. Top quality bed linens, fixtures and fittings. In terms of amenities Ikea doesn’t stock more. The host very generously provides an overwhelming array of consumables. The open plan living space is generous and airy and has clearly defined areas for cooking, eating and relaxing. The bedrooms are spacious and luxurious. The outdoor terrace is private and secure so no worries about the dogs absconding. It was our first visit to Devon but will definitely not be our last. We sailed on the Dart, took a hike out to the castle and St. Petrox’s. Dartmouth offers amazing scenery which we never tired of. We visited stylish Salcombe and the many villages along the Dart with highlights being Dittsham and Stoke Gabriel and Totnes. We took steam trains and open top buses to the English Riveria. Spectacular coastal drives and walks. We enjoyed our week in South Devon a county with an abundance of natural beauty, boats, steam trains and paddlers and jam on top.”  Linda – 14-20 September 2019

“Lovely cottage with great amenities. Dartmouthis ACE!” Paul & Vicky, Ann and Dave (Diamond wedding) – 10-13 September 2019

“An absolutely amazing week in this lovely home – we don’t want to leave!! The little ‘extras’ made it a real home from home and having the terrace for outdoor drinks/BBQ’s was superb! The taste in decor/furniture was just our taste and the downstairs open plan worked perfectly for us. We will definitely be re-booking for next year! Hilary, Phil and Family –  31 August – 6 September 2019

“Another fabulous week spent in Number 10 – love it. Home from home thats for sure. Amazing, magical, LOVE IT. Can’t wait for third visit. Much love” Chris and Benson the dog – 24 August 2019

“Thank you for providing an amazing place with such a fabulous location. You’ve thought of everything. We absolutely LOVED it. We hope to see you again” The Johnsons – August 2019

“A beautiful house located in a prime location. There were many little touches at the property to make us feel like we were at home, and Christine gave us many tips on where to go to make us feel at ease. Everything in the house was pristine and of outstanding quality.” George – 19-24 July 2019
